Phonto: IOS vs. Android

Phonto is a great app. You can use it for adding cool text to images - but not all the features you might have heard of are available on your device.

Depending on whether your device is an Andoid or IOS (Apple) some features of Phonto may not be available on your device. More so that IOS devices have more features than Android.

Features available on IOS but NOT on Android.

1. Add images to your current image.

By this, I mean you are able to open an image from your camera roll, and place on top of the original image. This is great for making edits or icons, as even only Phonto can be used to make one. Unfortunately for Android users, this feature is yet to come.

2. Add shapes to images.

Like above you can also add shapes to images, though, these shapes are provided by Phonto. They range from abstract (an example is the yellow spiky shape behind my 'VS'), flowers, social media icons and letters.

3. Crop images

Phonto can be used on IOS devices to crop images. Whether it is when you add an image to place on another, or load a new one - a bar of different shapes will come up. From circles to squares and social media icons. You can also use the Square crop too.

4. Add Filter

On IOS , there are various filters available for use - some can be adjusted and others must be bought. This is not available on Android devices, so you will have to use another app for filters.

5. Underline text

You can underline text using different types of underline methods. From thick and thin, to dotted, dashed and double.

6. Different free fonts.

This isn't very important as you are able to download your own fonts on both devices (See my post here to learn how) but some pre-downloaded fonts are different on each device.

7. Custom sizes

There are custom sizes available on Android devices, when you choose to use a plain image, but it only shows the size. e.g W: 1024x H: 1024. On IOS devices it shows different sizes with headings. e.g Iphone 6s (1242x2208) or a Twitter banner (1500x500)

Almost all features on Android are available on IOS, but IOS has more features. This was just a small list of things, there might be more.
